May Chamber Chatter

May 2018 Chamber Chatter    Issue # 1 Vol. 1

This is the very first issue of Chamber Chatter and we are very excited about sharing information about the activities of the chamber and of its members.  As this is in its infancy we are taking small steps before we start running. The board of directors is made up of a core group of civic minded community members.  Pete Eggen (Manager of Fleet and Farm) is this year’s president, Andy Swanson (Ness Agency) is the vice president, Linda Boyer (Executive Director St. James HRA) is the secretary and Jen Winkelman (Pioneer Bank – VP Risk Management Officer) is the treasurer.   The other members of the board are Alison Elg (Pioneer Bank – AVP Finance), Shae Cowell (True Value/Verizon – Verizon Manager, Melissa Guerra (First National Bank-Bookkeeper), Ursula Hangstrand (Good Samaritan Society – Administrator), Sean Vostad (St. James Family Dentistry – Dentist), Alex Malm (St. James Plaindealer – reporter), Jeff Barrett (Pioneer Bank – Ag/Business Banker).  A special thank you to the employers of the businesses represented for allowing their employees to be active members of the board of directors.

We have an excellent resource for our members with Sheenah Buck on staff as a media consultant.  She has been instrumental in working on updating our chamber activity flyers, blogging for the Chamber and the Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as keeping you up to date with information on Facebook.  Feel free to contact the chamber office if you would like assistance with flyers or have information that you would like to share but do not have the time to work on the project – Sheenah is ready, willing and very able to assist you.

Due to the support from our members and board of directors the chamber is on strong financial footing and is looking for additional ways that we can assist your business.  Suggestions are always welcome.

Office hours are from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Chamber Bucks are available to purchase!!  Download your Chamber Buck request form now!

Have a great May!

Joe McCabe, Chamber Director
