Winter Carnival 2022 ❄️

St. James Winter Carnival 2022 is here! There are so many activities that even the hum-bug
scrooge (you know who I mean) will find something to take joy in this season.
Make sure you are keeping up on Facebook @discoverstjames and stay in the loop with all the activities in St. James by signing up to receive the Chamber Blast. Just email stjmnchamber@gmail.com with, “I want in!” in the subject line.

Make sure you start the carnival off right by grabbing your favorite cup of coffee at Encore while taking a moment to sip and enjoy the pianist playing you right into Christmas. Then swing by the Library and pick up the supplies offered to build the best Gingerbread house in the contest being held. Let’s see who has the best gingerbread building skills! Keep watching the Library this coming week because they will also be doing storytime reading, “Polar Express”.

I know that everyone will be ready for the Holiday Cocktail Tasting at the St. James Liquor store.
What’s your favorite cocktail this time of year? Comment and share it with me.

Then, are you ready for this? You aren’t ready, but I’ll tell you anyway… A Vikings Party at the
Golf Course! Yessss, right?! Cheer on the best team as they play against the NY Jets. Then sit
around the toasty fire pit and warm up with a holiday drink, celebrating with everyone at the golf course.

Make sure one thing you do is check out all the businesses that are hosting Open Houses. They
put a lot of effort and thought into it so let’s show our appreciation and support for what they do for us here in St. James.
Don’t miss the 225 Event Center on Armstrong Blvd. S. They are having an open house for you to go and see the lower and main level restorations.
Sounds exciting! Restorations are so great, It’s fun to see something getting new life!
Also, while you’re down there visit Mr. and Mrs. Claus and the elf shop and hear the beautiful
sound of accordion music from Norma Kurtzweg.

There are some Meat Raffles, Holiday Fairs, and Bake Sales because, honestly, can you really
have too many baked goods? Especially this time of year? Everyone knows the right answer to
that question!

Oh Ho Ho Kris Kringle Bingo and Meat Raffle is happening at the American Legion. Now, Bingo
is serious business and a whole lot of fun. How many cards can you play at a time?

Also, I just need to know, where are my trivia people at? I know you are out there and there is holiday fun for you too down at the Eagles club.

Now that you are in the Christmas spirit, put on your favorite pajamas and head on over to the
Collage St. James, True Value, Encore and Gem Den for the party taking place downtown. Yes
folks, we are having a pajama party! This will be a great time to get those Christmas gifts and be
comfy while doing it. Seriously, it’s worth it.Dont miss out on the discounts you’ll get for wearing your pj’s.
There truly is so much to do. Make sure you keep up. A Vendor Show and Elf Shop at the American Legion. These are all great options for getting special gifts for those you love.

There will be hay rides for the kids by C&B Operations and an EMS Chili Supper down at the
American Legion.

Then…it happens… The Parade of Lights down 1st Ave. I love this part. It’s so fun and this year
there will be Carolers, a bonfire, and hot chocolate downtown at the park!! How perfect!?!
sounds better than a Hallmark movie right?

On Sunday, the wonderful 12 days of Christmas St. James Winter Carnival will come to an end.
End it well by attending the Swedish Meatball fundraiser at the American Legion.
See the Matinee, “Polar Express”, at the Princess Theater and go Snowshoeing at Meadowlark Prairie.

What a great way to end this fun Carnival.
It’s events like these that make living in St. James special. The community is so rich and there are things to do for everyone right here.

Thank you to all who had a hand in putting this together for all ages to enjoy and the businesses and organizations for your late nights, open houses, and hospitality. St. James is a place that makes anyone proud to call home.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
