September 2018 Chamber Chatter from the Executive Director, Joe McCabe

From the Desk of the Executive Director, Joe McCabe

September is another busy month with a lot of activity.  School is starting and we welcome nine new teachers in the school system.  Thanks to all of the businesses that provided information/gifts for the welcome packets.  The business community has scheduled Crazy Days for September 15th.  We also have the 2nd annual Cultures United – Multicultural Fiesta on September 15th from 3:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

The website – www.discoverstjamesmn.com  is being reviewed and updated on a weekly basis.  If you see anything that should be corrected please contact the chamber office so that the website can be as accurate as possible.

The community calendar is your source of information in regard to activities taking place in the community.  Please provide updates to the chamber when you schedule an event.

We deliver! if you have chamber bucks to redeem you can call the chamber office 507-375-3333 and leave a message as staff will bring you a check in payment of the redeemed bucks.

Last month a survey was emailed out to members asking for input in regard to member meetings.  The results will be published the first part of September. Thank you to everyone who responded to the survey.

The Chamber blogs have been very popular – if you have any suggestions in regard to a blog please contact the Chamber office or Sheenah Buck.

Save the date! The Winter Carnival has been scheduled for the first full weekend in December.  December 7,8 & 9 the retailers committee is working on some new ways of enticing residents to participate in the many activities being planned for the weekend.
